Measurement of absolute pressure?
At Buhl & Bønsøe, we aim to provide you with the best possible equipment for pressure measurement. Therefore, in our selection, you will primarily find equipment from the German company Testo, known for high-quality products. Testo also means reliability, precision, and power.
There are several different pressure ranges in which pressure measurement can be performed. In some cases, it is relevant to measure atmospheric pressures, while in others, pressure measurement is about measuring absolute pressure; it is particularly here that we can do something for you with the above assortment.
Read more about measuring equipment here and watch product videos on our YouTube channel.
However, we also offer several options for measuring pressure with other products. If your pressure measurement pertains to a different area than absolute pressure, you can also benefit from taking a look at our other measuring instruments for measuring pressure and air velocity. Among these are:
- Differential pressure gauges
- Air velocity meters
- Vacuum gauges
How to best measure pressure
At Buhl & Bønsøe, we have instruments that can measure almost all forms of pressure. However, it is not certain that you need all the functions when measuring the pressure you are dealing with. We want to make your pressure measurement as simple as possible, and therefore we are happy to advise you on your purchase. You can always contact us, and together we will find the right solution for you.
If your need for pressure measurement is, for example, limited, you can choose one of our pocket line measuring instruments Testo 511, which is a so-called absolute pressure gauge. For more advanced tasks, we recommend a reference manometer like those in the Testo 521 series, which has several family members with increasingly larger measuring parameters.
Perhaps it is better to invest in one of the measuring instruments that can handle different pressure ranges and can actually measure both pressure and other parameters. This could be from the Testo 400 series, where many features are packed into one piece of measuring equipment - all without compromising functionality or user-friendliness.
Data loggers for absolute pressure measurement
Did you know that it is possible to perform absolute pressure measurements with a Testo logger? Testo 176-P1 measures temperature, humidity, and absolute pressure.
How is absolute pressure measured?
Absolute pressure is measured in relation to absolute zero pressure. Explained differently, absolute pressure is the pressure that will occur at absolute vacuum. Or at 0 feet of pressure per square centimeter. Measurements of absolute pressure are always precise, as the starting point is 0. An absolute pressure measurement is conducted by having absolute vacuum in the measuring equipment and measuring the difference via a sensor. The abbreviation Abs. is used to indicate that a measurement has been made as an absolute pressure measurement. This is used for applications where a pressure measurement applies to gases, vapors, or liquids.
In addition, there is also absolute barometric pressure. This is a comparison of how much pressure is exerted by the atmosphere in relation to a vacuum, which is a space where there are no gases. The air pressure in a vacuum will be zero, as there are no gases to exert pressure on objects. Absolute barometric pressure is primarily used in scientific investigations and industrial applications that require precise data. Absolute pressure measurement is thus the most precise pressure measurement you can perform.
