After the course, you will be able to constructively apply the acquired knowledge in your daily work within:- Building thermography: detection and documentation of heat loss through doors and windows, construction defects, inadequate insulation, leaks in heating systems, cold bridges, areas at risk for mold, settlement damages
- Electrical thermography: motors, rotating components, electrical systems
- Validation: validation of rooms including temperature verification
Content
Brief history of thermography.General thermography theory
- Spectrum, energy, heat, thermodynamics, temperature, steady state-transient, heat capacity, heat transfer, conduction, convection (natural, forced), radiation (Planck and Stefan-Boltzmann), reflection, absorption/emission, transmission (thermal background), Black body.
- Software presentation and review of analysis functions.
- Thermal image examples: building gables, underfloor heating, settlement damages, electrical panels, electronics.
- Tips to avoid sources of error.
